    re glueing carpet

    What is best for glueing patches of carpet down in my boat.

    Use contact cement for small areas, which it sounds like you have. Otherwise, use outdoor or indoor/outdoor carpet glue for the larger areas. You have more work time and you can reposition the carpet with the glue, vs. the contact cement, you pretty much need to get it right when you lay the carpet down.
