For my radio, trim and tilt and live wells I used the cranking battery. Everything else I run off the Deep Cycle.

I use a dual purpose battery for cranking and running all accessories. The t/m batteries are for the t/m only in my boat.
I use two six volt's, hooked together in series to make 12 volt's. I have used this set up since 1991 and have never had a problem. Have never run the battery's down, I fished one time with a buddy for 30 hour's and still did'nt run the battery's down. What I use is actually a golf cart battery, what's good about two six volt's is that while your running down the lake, your charging both battery's. My first two six volt's came from Sam's club, both battery's- $85. They lasted for 7 year's(one of the battery case's froze and cracked open during the winter), I've had my new set since 98', no problem's!
I had issues with all the accessories / electronics pullng starting battery down. I went to the Starting / Deep Cyclle combo and resolved the issue. I like the idea of the two 6v to supply the 12v, but don't have the room.
