My latest addition to my Procraft...deck extension/tackle storage

I have never really had a convenient location to keep the 3600 tackle organizers in my boat. All the other front compartments are either too shallow to stand them on end or the compartments have rounded bottoms where the 3600 boxes don't sit well.

I installed this deck extension/tackle storage compartment a few weeks ago with mostly leftover supplies from my boat restoration a few years ago.

Nice job. So what did you use for the lid? Sides and insert? Any construction pix?

Sorry, these are the only pics I took. I used treated plywood covered in epoxy resin for the lid and kickplate, sprayed it flat black and carpeted it. I used 1"x2" wood strips, covered with epoxy resin and painted flat black, for the outer lip (framing) of the compartment and them installed aluminum angle (1/2" higher than the wood strips) inside of this to form a channel where the water can run out onto the main floor.

I didn't use any insert. I just framed this area in. The plastic dividers in the compartment are from Walmart. They sell them in the school supplies section. They are made by Rubbermaid.

Awesome job. It looks like it came that way from the factory.
