Re: Replacing floor in a Cajun Question (klmracing)

I had a Cajun a few years ago that had the same thing near the drivers console. I was able to used a 90 degree cutting wheel and cut out the floor, then I pulled/poked out the stuff taht went under the top cap.

Was not all that hard, just had to be VERY careful to NOT cut the hull.....

Re: Replacing floor in a Cajun Question (Carlos H)

My floor replacement photos are pinned at the top of this forum. I did not remove my top cap. I cut out the old floor, leaving a 2"-3" strip of the old floor around the perimeter. I made the new floor to go over the top of the strip I left around the perimeter. I added additional foam and bracing to the floor, to offset the slightly higher floor.

    So far, so good.

you might try to cut the floor out at a 45 degree around the edge and 45 the new piece in and glass it..

I used treated wood for all the bracing. I had to replace some floor supports and reinforced the stringers on mine. I just added height to the new stringers to match up with the new floor.

I needed to replace my whole floor. Poke around and see if you need a complete new floor, or if the damage is related to just a small area.

Re-gel. If you mean pay someone? Yikes!! Expensive.

You can get Vertglas and do it for around $100 yourself and it lasts around a year or so.
You can also use a urethane solution like I did on mine for around the same price and get a few extra years out of it. It's more work (sanding in between coats). Posts some pictures, I almost bought one of the RG Cajuns a few years ago. I liked the layout of the boat.
