I found water in transom when I removed eye from transom. The wood is still solid.my question,is there anyway to remove water or can I dry out by drilling small holes in fiberglass on inside?
All suggestions welcome.
Thanks

I have heard of using either alcohol or acetone. Just use them in a non-reduced form, so you do not add more water than what is already there.
Possibly if you remove everything including the motor bolts and ALL through hulls on the transom you would get enough open areas. Then heat lamps could do the rest but it will take a while. Probably several days or even a week+. The wood may still rot eventually since it was exposed to moisture. Possibly saturating it with a thinned epoxy like Git Rot or something might permanently fix it if it's still solid. It's made to saturate wood and cure into a solid plastic mass. I used it years ago on a barely soft deck in an old Winner and it worked surprisingly well. It's worth a try.![]()
