Hi guys, new to the site.
I've added an extension to my existing front casting deck, I can't seem to locate the before and after pictures right now but when i find them I'll post them.
Anyway, I was fishing Erie last fall and on my way back to the launch, the sun was in my eyes and we were trying to make it back before sunset. Ended up motoring over a rock shoal.Damaged the hull down to the fibreglass, my neighbour helped me repair the damage but it wasn't sanded and I didn't put on the gel coat yet.
I was anxious to bring the boat back on the water to see how the repair held up. Seemed to be fine except for one thing, when I am just putting along I can read bottom, but as soon as I even touch the throttle my readings get all scewed upMy transducer is epoxied onto the inside bottom of the boat, could it be that because the repair job hasn't been sanded yet it is causing turbulence and bubbles which in turn is causing all the screwed up readings on my finder? If not maybe I should just take it to get it repaired by a fibreglass repair guy.
Any opinions or comments would be appreciated. Thanks
Harry
