    LOW RPM HELP

I am curious on why a 2003 Evinrude Ficht 200hp pushing a 19' ProGator bass boat with a 26P Raker is only achieving 4800 RPM's. I know it could be the prop, but I wasn't sure if it could be affecting the RPM output that much. The motor seems to run flawless; starts right up, idles smooth, runs great, but the hole shot is horrible but doesn't sound like it is boggin down or anything which could also be prop related.

My question to you guys is:
Does this sound like something that could be mechanical in nature and if so what could be the mechanical problem?

I am just trying to narrow the options down before the spending starts.

    Re: LOW RPM HELP (barbarian)

whats you speed at 4800 rpm?,have you checked the plugs to see if one doesn't look the same?,had the tach checked?,check the back of it and see if its on the #6,move the adjustment screw back and forth a few times, they corrode up easily ,,this is some stuff I would start with
