1999 Stratos 295 Pro Elite D/C question..

I just purchased a 1999 Stratos 295 Pro Elite D/C with a Johnson 200 on it. It has a 24P Raker on it right now. It has a CMC ML 65 manual jackplate with 5 1/2 inches of setback. I set the p to p today at 3 1/2 inches below and went to the lake.
I was able to get 57.4 mph (gps) at 5800 - 5900 rpm's. Hole shot was good in my opinion. I raised the motor up to 3 inches below and lost mph. I lowered it to 3 1/4 inches and got 55.6 mph. I then moved it back to 3 1/2 below and got 57.4 again. The bow doesn't seem to have alot of bow lift like I expected it to have.
I don't know how much work has been done to the prop, but there are numbers engraved on it that lead me to think it has been repaired at some point. Does anyone have a suggestion for gaining more mph? I don't have a 25 or 26 pitch prop, but I'd like to try one to see if this adds mph.

My buddies 295 will run close to 70 with a 200 merc.. I think you need a different prop.

Sick motor. Hot foot not pulling to full throttle.

No hot foot at this time. I just checked my throttle and it is going all the way.

Motor checked out fine. Switched to another 24 Raker that has had pitch and cup added. Got 62.4 at 5400 - 5500 rpm's, jackplate set at 3 1/4" below. Had to let off because the chine walking got bad quick. I dropped the plate to 3 1/2" below and had the same result. Should I move the plate UP or DOWN at this point?

Up 1/4" at a time until you start to loss water pressure. Then back down 1/4".
