    Compensate for added battery weight

How would you compensate set-up for added battery weight . Has boat pretty much setup with the batterys that in the boat now . They are group 24's & 27's . Plan on installing three Wal-mart Maxx 29's to boat . Would you adiust up a 1/4 then see what it is during are leave it where its at and just try there . Was planning on speeding up the dail in .

How much weight difference will there be. If its only 30 lbs total it may not make any difference. You may have to change the size of the vent holes in your prop if you have PVS plugs. Make sure you try to balance the new load.

I went from 27s to 31s, didn't notice any difference in hole shot and top end stayed the same.

Re: Compensate for added battery weight (rchavis)

When I switched to heavier batteries I started eating more bowls of Campbell's Chunky soup to balance out the load

...try and mount them closer to the centerline of the boat if possible so you don't have all that weight on one side unless you ride solo most of the time in which case your weight will cancel them out (basically balance the load port-starboard so the boat will ride evenly on the pad without much steering input). Some boats are more sensitive to load changes than others.
