Inward..Outward Jack Plate adjustment

I have a jack plate that has not only the up and down adjustment but also has an adjustment on both sides where you can (tuck) the lower unit inward toward the hull or back away from the hull. I am having problems getting the boat up on the pad all the way out of the water. I am exploring all options, does this adjustment have anything to do with bow lift

The tuck in would help on take off but it will not help lift the bow. It will have to be out all the way to help that.

Thanks i am still trying to grasp the whole process got alot of figureing out to do
