Insurance for a 17 year old

I have a '97 Javelin 400 w/ an Evinrude 225. I'm the primarily (only) operator since my dad doesn't fish. The title is under his name. What's the best approach to getting insurance? Most companies won't do policies for my age with that powerful of a boat. Should we just insure it under my dad?

Yes Insure it under your dad. Im 20 and had a very hard time getting my own insurance this year, had my old boat in my dads name.

The boat needs to be insured in the title holders name. You may be listed as an operator. That would depend on your experiance, driving record, claims history ect. If you meet the underwriting guidlines,We would list you as an operator. I hope this helps. Bob Luellen 800-339-1235
