I was running down the lake and my trolling motor self deployed at about 50 mph. Either I didn't make sure it was fully latched or something broke!

Needless to say the indestructible Minn Kota shaft on the 101 lb Terrova is destructible!

Not sure what to do, I called my Insurance Agent on Monday morning. She thought it wouldn't be covered because it could have been avoided if I would have made sure it was latched. What the !#$%^&* .... So she called me back and stated that maybe it would be covered, but had no idea what the would give me to replace it..... I would have to file a claim!

So after this fiasco, I started thinking about other issue that could be/or go wrong with the boat and how they would respond! I asked them to explain the coverage and they stated it was "All in the book I was given with the policy"... I stated for $700 a year and no claims in over 20 years I thought they could explain it.....

Anyway, I gave Bob a call and received an education that I could understand and a policy that saved me over 35% and a deductible that is diminishing each year we are claimless.... so in 4 years there is no deductible

BTW, Minn Kota fixed the trolling motor for free and there was only $450 worth of scratches to the hull that I will have fixed during winterization....so no claim filed.
