I'm repowering my boat this spring, and in order to save a couple of grand, I'm looking at a completely rebuilt motor.
Can I get boaters insurance that will cover the motor mechanically? Example, if the lower unit blows up due to a mechanical failure, and not from hitting something, will it be covered?
My biggest fear is dropping $5k+ on a motor, and it blowing up on me the following year, and not having it under warranty.

It also would depend on the year of the motor. If it has been completley rebuilt by a certified marine mechanic, there may be some kind of warrantee. I would give Ken or Todd a call at Trinity.
