one thing.....dont do it............just kidding...csx is a great company to work for. I stayed at that same motel when I was down there. They usually put the transportation department in a holiday inn express instead of the roach motel. Best advise to give you is when it gets dark dont go walking around, stay in your room unless your in a large group of people. That area is not the best and they will tell you that. Also dont drink any beer while your there because they may test you for it while your there. I am in the mechanical department so I drank all kinds of beer, they dont check us much. Just dont miss the bus to take you to the training center because they will not let you drive to the center. The food at the training center is not bad either, especially the breakfast, southern folk can fix some grubb. Give me a call if you got any other questions, I can fill you in on some other things and congrats man on your up coming career, you are gonna like it even more when you see your first check. My cell is 304-840-5800.
thats nice to know.where can i get a bullet proof vest?![]()
Hey, WV bassmaster, Its good to see you getting a good job. I work for Norfolk Southern in Belle. You can make a pile of money if you want to. The bad news is it will eat into tour fishing time. I'm a Yardmaster, so I have two days a week off, not the best days (Monday- Tuesday) but still two days. I guess CSX is work on call like we do. I don't make as much money as the guys on the trains, but I new that when i took the job. I hope it works out ok for you.![]()
yeah i know that it is going to.hopefully with this job i will make enough to be able to go out of state and really enjoy myself.fishing in this state is sorry compared to surrounding states.
I know what your saying, Good luck!!
I use to got out town on fishing trips alot until I got married and that stopped real fast. I was not trying to scare you Jami, just giving you a little heads up. You are getting in at a good time there are so many people retiring that you should be able to move up in seniority pretty quick and like John361v said apply for the locomotive engineer as soon as you can
glad to see another railroader on here....John361v...![]()
i have not been out of state fishing other than yatesville for years. a trip is coming due though. maybe in a couple of years once i have some time in.
Best of luck on your new job.
Doug
Best of luck Jami I hope it all works out Are you going to have to relocate there or are you still going to live in WV.
Congrats on the job. Now you'll be able to pay me for some fishin lessons you been needin.![]()
