    frustrated etec owner

i have a 2009 etec purchased in march of last year. i have had it out of town twice and been unable to complete tournaments due to break downs. the latest one was diagnosed as a faulty fuel valve which apparently does not show up on the computer. i had the boat out today and experienced the same problem. it won't go past 3000 rpms and i can't get it up on plane. i have a basscat sabre and a 115 etec. i'm reallly getting ticked off with all the problems i have had. any suggestions?

Are you talking about a faulty fuel valve in the boat?

Perhaps the serial number would help us see what the problems have been, not sure what you mean by a fuel valve in the engine, there are pumps, lines, connections, and injectors plus a filter.

Your best bet is to contact Evinrude's customer service at 847-689-7090 and talk to them. You may find they will do what they can to find out what the story is and recommend something to your dealer. Sometimes they will suggest a better trained dealer.

The 115 E-TEC is one of the sweetest running engines in the series, so it is a bit of a suprise to hear of someone having multiple problems.
