    ((((RAYSTOWN ALERT))))

Went to put in at the Snyder's Run yesterday, only to find the boat launch closed by the Corp of Engineers. The entire area from the gate to the water's edge was torn up w/ heavy construction equipment running around, so I assume they are regrading in preparation for paving the entire area. Only time will tell. Sure hope they complete the project before next Spring.

We had to turn around and drive the extra 15 minutes to put in at 7 Pts., which cut into our allowable fishing time

Thanks for the link Zelmo; guess I should have checked their website first.

I do have their website book-marked, but I usually only check it for water levels and water temps, which I am not too concerned with this time of year.

    Thanks again. Double J

    Lousy is how we did.

4 dinks and one 17 incher on Thursday, and I went back up by myself on Saturday and fished from 7 to 11 AM and only caught one dink, which managed to come off at the boat.

    That's the poop. Double J

Anybody know if Snyder's Run is open yet? It was only supposed to take 4 weeks.

    Edited:

Ooops. I should have checked before posting. Its now early November.

Yep; it was still closed on Saturday Zelmo.

Might as well figure on it being out of commission until next Spring...........maybe.

I am thinking about going up next Saturday. We are supposed to have much lower temperatures starting on Wednesday. Do you think that will be long enough after the front blows through to be any good?

Look at it this way Zelmo...........it certainly couldn't get much worse. HEhehehehehe

Maybe I'll see ya up there on Saturday; I'll be putting in at 7 Pts, since Snyder's is still closed.

    Re: (This is Double J)

I should know tomorrow night if I am going on Saturday. If I do I'll probably put in at 7 pts too. When do they take out the courtesy docks?

This is likely my last chance. I won't go next weekend because of the tournament, and after that the boat goes in storage for the winter.

Thanks for all of that info Zelmo; appreciate it.

I am surprised the tourney is on a Sunday; I'll be sure to stay off the water that day.

    Thanks Double J

    Re: (This is Double J)

A question is will it be a problem on Saturday also.

I actually had a friend who wanted us to go up and follow them around with binoculars to see where they fished. That's not my idea of a good time.

Not my idea of a good time either. I'll just stay at home that weekend, cause I got no tolerance for crowds.

We might need our Carhart Bibs and long Johns for tomorrow Zelmo. Waddauthink??

Maybe I'll see ya up there tomorrow. Double J

    Re: (This is Double J)

Turns out my partner can't go until Sunday. Can't say I'm too disappointed given tomorrow's forecast. At least on Sunday it isn't supposed to be as windy.

If you have a chance, please post how you did when you get home tomorrow.

Will you be out Sunday too?

I would like to talk my partner out of going tomorrow; as well, and go on Sunday instead. It will be his first trip to Raystown, and he has never been in a Bass Boat before. BUT..........he is so excited about going, that I think he would be extremely dissapointed if we didn't go.

He'll change his mind when we go cruising up to James Creek at 75 MPH+ HEhehehehehe.

I'll keep ya posted on our luck.............or lack thereof. Double J

I didn't forget ya Zelmo. Put in at 7 PTs. and fished from 7 AM to 1 PM. Got 2 keepers. got a 17" Smallie 200 yds from the boat ramp over 20-25' of water on a Lucky Craft Bevy Shad, and got a 13" Largemouth on a Trap, way back in that bay across from Snyders, and crossed over that saddle where I saw ya a while back. No other hits.

If you put in at 7 Pts. stay in the bay for awhile. That's the 2nd nice one in there in the past 10 days!!!!!!!! Might see ya tomorrow.

    Re: (This is Double J)

Thanks for the update. I just got done getting the boat ready. We plan to leave here around 5 so we'll be up there around 7. Right now the plan is to put in at 7 pts, so if you go I'll say hi.

Is the lake turning over yet?

    Re: (zelmo)

On October 19th and 20th there is about a 100+ or - boat tournament going out of James Creek. It is the Pennsylvania Classic.
