ICE-OUT AT RAYSTOWN 3/22/2007

Hey Catfish123.........get your Ally out of mothballs; the ice is off the main lake................at least up around Tatman Run.

Pulled into Tatman this morning, and the lake is open as far as I could see, but there were a few ice chunks floating around the bridge piers, and we saw several logs floating around, (which is pretty typical for early Spring). There was even a pick-up with an empty boat trailer parked at Tatman. He must have been the first guy on the lake.

Coffee Run is iced over, as well as Snyder's Run, so I guess most of the other boat launch areas are iced over as well, since they are all located back in coves or bays of some type. Tatman Run Launch, however, (being the only launch on the main lake), looked very inviting.

I think winter may finally be over

I would think all the ice will be off the lake by this time next week. Some nice warm rain will help the cause!

I believe you're right fishforum. This warm rain we are experiencing right now should do the trick.........................Let's hope so anyway.

The only prob with the rain/snow melt, it's bringing the river up. I plan on getting the boat out tomorrow and fishing the river Sunday. I've only fished a river for a year. I don't know when I should and shouldn't get on it. It looks like it's up about 3' from normal. Hopefully it will calm down by Sunday. I guess I'll just be cautious. I just need to wet a line!

Double J......I was up at Raystown Saturday and Sunday and I didn't see any ice at Coffee Run...........I think it may all be gone......YAHOO!

Yeah Catfish...........I heard that guys were fishing in James Creek on Saturday.

I would be up there today, (Tuesday the 27th), but today is my wife's birthday and it wouldn't look too good if I was out fishing when she got home from work.

I will definitely get up there one day this week. My boat is all packed and ready to go.
