    Battery problem?

The problem is with a new 2007 etec 150. I purchased it new last year to replace a blown Fitch. The trim works great untill the motor starts getting higher in rpm range. The engine will cut out when i am trimming to get on max plane. When I release the trim button it comes back to life. It does this consistently and only when trimming at higher rpm's. At idle or lower rpm's its fine and travles through the full length of trim with no problem. I can trim down at high speed and the engines doesnt faulter. I currently have a 650 cranking amp battery and it was suggested this may be too small of a battery, if I replace the battery with a 1000 cranking amp battery it may go away. I dont want to shell out $200 for a battery that may not take away the problem unless it does fix it. Any suggestions? Thanks

have you got wing nuts on your starting battery or hex head nuts, this has caused many a problem with the electrical system,[wing nuts getting loose] ,and it may very well be the battery you have now ,it could be week not even 650 cca,I assume you have checked all grounds.... if not check that too,is the trim button on the control handle or an after market, I've had them go bad and just raise or lower out of the blue.

I'm not trying to be a wise azz, but, do you realize there is trim to a certain point then there is tilt. Under throttle and full power the tilt does not have the power to push the engine higher.

I do have wingnuts on the battery but they are tight. The problem appeared as soon as I had the motor installed last year and it persisted through over 75 trips to the water. Grounds are all good and it does it on tilt and trim setting but only at high rpm's. I can trim all day long up and down below 4000 rpm's but after that the engine cuts out when I trim and comes back to life...almost seems like a dead engine for a second. I guess I will try a bigger battery and see what happens with that. Thanks for the input and will let you know if the battery swap helps.
