How's the fishing in the lakes region right now?

Curious as to how people are doing up there, what the water temp is, etc. Thinking of hitting one of the big three this weekend, either Winni, Winnisquam, or Newfound, but depends on WHERE people have been catching them. If they're still deep, then I'll pass and stay somewhere closer this weekend. Thanks for any and all info guys.

And actually, if the fish are still heavily on beds on Massy, I'll go there this weekend. Want to put the wife on some good sized fish for her first time out this year.

Dont go to winnisquam or Newfound...the water temp on Newfound is in the low 40's and winnisquam just sucks... Winni they are still deep in places..You could probally go to lees mills and catch largies shallow though

Thanks for the info, and that's what I figured I would hear, but wanted to make sure. I'll wait one more week before heading up to Winni then and try out Lee's Mills, I have a tourney out of there for our end of the year tourney, October 1st and 2nd, so I have to get to know the area before then. I think I have plenty of time though.

Alright, so how about farther south? Massebesic, or any other good spots all bedded up yet? May go check out a local place that's a favorite of mine, good sized largies and smallies there.

Crap, you're right. Forgot about that. Well, I'll just make it simple and stick to a small local pond I love to fish. Horrible launch, only enough room to park 2 trailered vehicles, and in the middle of nowhere.....that's my kind of place.

Winnisquam is turning on right now, you should have a great time there. Winni is also in great shape. Lots of good size fish brought to the scales on Thursday (5.05 LM and 4.58 SM were the lunkers). Newfound was cold (48-49 was the warmest water we found on Wed.), but some people still found them (16+ lbs was the winning weight).

Winni would be your best bet for the next 2-3 weeks as the smallies start doing their thing and the LM start getting active on beds. Good luck. Hopefully we will see you and Josh at Sunapee in June.

Nice, thanks. Without a doubt we'll be there in June and for the rest of the season. Sucks that it took forever, but such is life at times.
