I may have to give up my bass card but....

I went out on Laurel Lake in Fitzwilliam yesterday and today. Started by looking for bass and couldn't find any. I did, however, see huge schools of trout swimming around. What a blast I had catching them(after I figured out which of my bass lures would actually catch the dang things). Managed to hook about 50 or so rainbows and browns yesterday, but turned them all loose. Went back today in the snow and sleet and caught about 10 and kept my limit of 5 to clean and give to a family in town which is not terribly well off financially.

It sure isn't something that I would do all year long, but it was certainly fun to catch those beautiful fish until I can find some bass.

    Scott,
Was that you traveling on 202(in Peterborough) about 0830ish? My co-worker spotted a guy towing a bass boat and he had on a s#it eatin' grin on his face with fishing rods tucked into the boat.

Nope, wasn't me. I only have to go about 5 miles to get to Laurel Lake, and it doesn't take me through Peterborough. I do, however, go through Peterborough all the time to get to Powder Mill and Gregg Lake(Gregg Lake is one of the best kept bass secrets in the state, IMO). Can't wait til they're unfrozen.

sounds like you had a great time. I haven't made it out yet but I would love to catch a few trout, or a few anything right about now
I fish a small pond for smallmouth and some times you can't keep the trout off the hook.brookies and rainbows love zoom pumkinseed lizards.
