The top water bite is on pretty good. I took the day off work and fished 5 hours this morning. I caught 20 bass plus a 6lb wiper. I only had one on a jig, the rest were on top water. Biggest was 18", I did have a 4lb+ on again, but of course it got off on the third jump.Everything but the 1 jig fish was caught schooling on shad or over grass. The wiper was a beautifully wide fish that was just over 22". I didn't weigh it since the 5.5 lb one I caught Sunday ended up floating an hour later and I had to eat it. They fight so hard they don't want to survive even when you release them right away. There was one floating out there today that I'll bet someone caught and it died after being released. ANyway the baby shad are about an 1" long and the bass/wipers are after them big time.
