Thanks, for the tips.

\"Hung up the MCs & returned to fishing... Bassboats are long gone- fishing out of a Lund now.. I must be getting old\"
The bass have been a little slow lately due to the weather patterns but I have has some luck. There are no northern in Wehrspahn. There are walleye but I havent caught any this year (I dont fish for em but usually get some here and there)
Nice to say hello & you have a nice looking boat !!!! So how did you make out? I had no luck shallow (a short one), so I went for the trees in 24'. Landed 2, 14+ and lost 2 ( broke off) but my big excitement was the biggest fight I have ever had. I did eventually get broke off- but it was fun & exciting none the less. Just could not get her out in the open- but she was HUGE.. The strongest pull I have ever had. I knew the loss percentage would be high fishing in the center of the trees, but knew that the fish would be good if landed.. Almost but no cigar... BUT the excitemnet was well worth the trip ! and I have a NEW favorite jig color :) Bill

Nice meeting you as well! Didn't do very well. Got some small ones but that was about it. Went out to Wehrspahn Fri afternoon and about the same... a bunch of smaller ones. I didn't think they would be out deep so I didn't even try. Guess ya showed me!!![]()
I am a Bill Dance & Shaw Grigsby watcher ( for the entertainment of course), but occasionally something they say sticks ! I heard once that with a cold front & changes in barometric pressure, the Bass nose up the the biggest wood they can find. Not having a way to check pressure- and not doing well shallow anyway, I gave it a shot & that was where I seen the most action. Dropping a jig or Senko right up against the biggest stump has paid off for me in the past. Usually does not work in tournaments as my partners usually want to run & gun no matter what the conditions are. (years ago I fished with Aksarben Bass)
I still want to get on Wehrspan-mainly because its close. Not as close as it is to you, im in Bellevue-close enough.. Alot closer than Branched Oak in Lincoln or my favorite- Mozingo in Maryville...![]()
Ok, you confirm no Northern in Wehrspan.... How about White Bass ?

nope. just LM, Walleye, crappie, gills and cats that I'm aware of. I've heard and done the same as you however I would have thought they would have been up shallow already. Guess I missed the boat on that one!
