Actual Lakes or Farm ponds & suck too?

If just lakes........there are 6 Lakes I know of within that time frame of Omaha to Catch Bass.........2 of them are West and SW side of Town....one is in Papillion (South Edge) and few others to the North & NW just a tad.

there is also a Private LAke that Russ fishes just south of OAFB that he seems to have good luck in

there are more than that but pickins are slim in most of them anymore due to Mis-Management and other factors ....................not bad for Mudholes in the Midwest though

Well, there's Walnut Creek literally less than 5mins from my apt! Fishing kind of sucks though and is always windy. Unfortunately, I keep my boat a half hour away at my folk's place. Send me an IM if you move up here. would love to meet someone from this site. Water's pretty cold up here right now though.

Unfortunately all of the local public lakes (cept one in Lincoln) are no wake lakes. There is one in Council Bluffs you can run on but its not all that big either. I like to hit the lakes in Iowa and Kansas. Nebraskas fisheries mgmt is the pits to say the least. Alot of it has to do with the pressure and its getting worse all the time due to gas prices. where are you applying at?

Re: Gonna be in Omaha on Thursday for Job Interview (Astro-T)

Well fella's I made it back. That was my first ever trip to Neb. I have say, Omaha looks like a pretty good place to live and raise children. But it is a long way from home. The interview went well, I have a feeling they (Tenaska) will make me an offer. I would just have to decide if I could make a move. I kinda figured there wouldn't be too many place for bass boat. That's unfortunate. Well anyway, if I make the trip again, we will have to meet for . I will keep you posted.

    Thanks for your help.

That's good news. Omaha isn't a bad town, but like I said before, look into moving to Sarpy county. I hear it's more expensive, but it's worth it. Did I mention that I work at a bar? We could drink LOTS of beer!
