Check these two out, one was just shy of the state record. I am pretty sure they came from the North end of the lake if not, in the canal section (divide cut).

those are some pigs right there. i have fished there one time and it was so hot i weighed in one fish of 2.5 and my co had 2nd with 8lbs. what do most people fish with there?
This time of year, probably jerkbaits and shakeyheads, but don't take my word on it. I have never fished up there in the winter or early spring
i figure i will throw the shakey head and carolina rig and jig
Poeman, keep in mind the water at Bay springs is CRYSTAL clear.
Kutail worms in natural colors and senkos have paid off for me there before.
Try some bright colors for the spotted bass. Those fish down there are tough to figure out. They spawn earlier than any lake I fish. Great lake though, you will like it. Just don't tear up your boat. Lots of stick ups and few rock piles. Be careful around the mouth of the bigbee. Stay in that channel until you past crows neck boat ramp.
