Rained all day here, very few boat out. I didn't even hook up the boat.

How'd you do if you made it?

I went up to the whitefish chain. Tried to fish pike but could only get bass. I can't remember catching so many bass. Switched over to a leech and still couldn't keep the bass of my line. DNR stopped by and “questioned” me because I was throwing a spinner bait for pike, I told him I can’t help it the keep hitting. Since I don’t use the monster minnows, and wasn’t going to throw musky baits, I’m not sure what I should have been throwing to catch pike. I prefer to fish pike and was legitimacy fishing pike. He just smirked and let me be. I felt like giving him a piece of my mind but decided to keep my mouth shut. I didn’t need to talk myself into trouble, especially when I wasn’t doing anything wrong.

Whitefish is Minnetonka without the speed limit.
    I wish it was closer.

The old man and I fished the River Friday, and it was good. A few bass 4-5lbs, and many smaller. Few bonus crappies, nothing over a pound though. My dad caught a Northern that was easily 20lbs, if not more. Biggest "gator" i've seen in a long time!

He and I fished Mille Lacs 'til about noon Saturday. Fishing was slow. We caught 15-16 sandcarp. Sadly, only one keeper. Biggest was 27-28inches. Caught them all in 14ft of water.

At least I got the boat in the water. Friday being the first day of the year. A few weeks past due!!!

This weather sucks and bass season should be open!!!

Around here it was slow. The few walleye caught were spawned out which is surprising considering the water temps. Had to work for the northern. Fished the smaller shallower lakes looking for warmer water but was still slow.
