The Rainy River is open and the waleye fisherman are going nuts. I may get a chance to go out in the next week or so. The lakes up here still have about 18" of ice.....

Dang, I am ready for a good meal of Walleye. Only keep 3 or 4 a year for the table but it has been a while. 2 1/2 to 3 lb Eye would hit the spot tonight..........

Minnewaska looks like it could open up any day now. The ice sure is turning black. I can't wait. Hopefully the crappies will be going in Torgy's bay this spring again.

The Rainy River has been very busy. I havn't had a chance to get out. The boat traffic on the highways has been incredible though. only 14 inches of ice on Rainy and getting very soft. It won't be long. And remember bass fishing opens on Rainy Lake May 13......
