1994 150Hp Evinrude Intruder reed replacement

Hello again! Just wanted to check in and see if someone can give me some guidance on my 1994 Evinrude Intruder 150Hp motor model 150GLERA. I took my rig in to be winterized back in November and was told by the technician that my #5 culinder had a bad reed. The compression checked good but there was gas flushing back through the carb. First time boat owner and now that spring is coming up I was trying to gauge how big of a fix this is. If anyone is familiar with this and would liek to share some information with me, it would be deeply appreciated. Just wanna know what I am up against as far as getting my motor fixed up for the upcoming season. Thanks!

Doing mine this weekend. Have the same problem with fuel back rushing into carbs. I bought factory brp parts to do the side I am having problem with. You can do just the one you have problem with, but you have to take the in carb plate and all off anyway. So I thought I would go ahead since in there and do redo the whole side at once and be done with it. Parts cost my around $110.00 thats shipping and all ( that is Reeds for all three cyc, new carb plate gaskets, new reed cage gaskets). I would suggest you getting a manual before starting, it will tell you step by step directions and also it will tell what torque to returns bolts to. good luck. IM if you need some help. Also ChampioNman has helped me with any problem I have had with my 93 Johnson 150hp. There are other here also but he is the one I ask.

Perfect! Like I said, first time owner and I wanted to make sure I wasnt going to end up over my head in trying to fix this. Would you happen to have the part #'s for what I need? I looked on the evinrude website for parts and I couldnt find it on the carb breakdown.... Am I even in the right place as far as that goes????

I reread your post and seen it to say #5 cylinder so disregard that IM sent. You will need (1) Gasket-Manifold to block #0336227, (1) Seal-Manifold to carbs.#0335404, and Leaf Values (aka-Reeds) #0317739 you will need 2 reeds for each carb/cylinder. I ordered enough to do the whole side since I was going to be in there might as well do them all and be done with it. The cost is not that much m

Got the updated info there, thanks for all the help! I just ordered a service manual as well so hopefully I can get the ball rolling on this project! Shouldnt be too tough right?
