My 92 Evinrude 150 hp is now revving up when I put it back in neutral. RPMs are bouncing up and down (usually 1600-3500) Whats going on? Needless to say I cant put it back in gear like this.

it sounds like your throttle cable gas throttle cable that is. needs to be tighter with the motor in netural turn the cable clockwise to tighten
need some very simple trouble shooting first, check to see that the throttle is going all the way to the idle stop position, I think you may have a lean running condition, but we need the very basic things checked first.
