    johnson 115 around 90-92 model

    Primer solenoid has a red lever on it you can move, my question is whats it for?

    That is the manual override in case the primer solenoid is inoperative electrically or if your battery is low and you have to hand-start a cold motor. Make sure it is turned fully clockwise when not needed.
