    Coffeen Fall/Winter Circuit

Anyone fishing any of the Coffeen Circuits this Fall?
I'm looking for information on the Super Singles tournaments.
More specifically if they will allow a 14 ft boat. Some Circuits and clubs have a minimum length of 16 ft. Bass World is out of the question, anyone familiar with the rules or have a contact who runs any of the Circuits?

Gene Cailey, who lives in Hillsboro (I think), will be your best bet for info. I believe his number is in the book, and I'm sure he'd be happy to talk with you. He used to run one of the winter circuits at Coffeen, but I'm not 100% sure if he's still doing that or not.

Gene's a great guy though, and knows more about that lake than probably anyone alive. If it were me, I'd look up his number and start from there.

You're not a BassWorld fan either ??? I don't think I'll be fishing with 'em anymore...

    -Joe

I spoke with Gene on Friday. He's very nice and said it would be no issue to fish the Tournament out of my small boat. If you fish the Cailey circuit this year and see a Decked out Johnboat with a Nissan on the back, stop by and say Hi. My boat is too small to fish Bass World Tournys. The entry fee for Bass World right now is also cost prohibitive as well. $130.00 a team Vs $60 fishing the Cailey circuit. I know of several people that are opting for the cheaper circuits due to the cost of fuel.
He also stated that he will be running a circuit at Lake Of Egypt too.

Great Tom, glad Gene took care of you. That guy is a class act.

And you're right about BassWorld - WAYYYYY too expensive for us "poor folks" . We fished with 'em a couple years ago, but for the money there are better circuits out there.

Good luck on the Coffeen circuit. Make sure you keep us updated with what the fish are doing!

That USABass circuit for Coffeen looks like it might be worth checking out.
$50 a team and $10 for Big Bass. I'm going out there posssibly this weekend.
I haven't been out there since February.

I've only been there ONCE this year...

Sold my "Coffeen boat" when I bought the 'Cat, and it's a big lake for just a trolling motor! When we do go, we usually fish the north end though, unless it's a tournament. Can generally fish all the way around before the batteries give out.

I didn't know USA Bassin' had a Coffeen circuit. We fished with them last year, on Rend. Pretty good bunch of guys, and they ran their Classic expertly last year. If we were to fish a "bigger" circuit again, I think it'd be with them.
