    Harris Chain

    Hey guys,
I am coming down from Indiana this weekend to my grandmother's house in Tavares. I will be fishing the Harris Chain all next week. If anyone has any reports, I would love to hear them. Also, if anyone wants to fish someday next week let me know. I will be fishing alone everyday. Thanks guys.

Last I heard Hickory Point ramp was closed. So your best bet will be Buzzard's Beach also known as Tavares Recreational Park.Good luck

James.....I live in Tavares on Lake Harris. There is 1 ramp a Hichory Point open, but the best place to launch is Buzzard Beach on Lk Eustis. It really has been too hot here to fish much past 10AM, some of us from the BBC had a minibux here a couple weeks ago but there was only 4 keepers caught. I have been catching fish in the mornings on top early(buzzbaut and ChugBug) and later on plastics. This week I have caught a couple decent fish on a 10 inch worm. iF i CAN BE OF ANYMORE HELP TO YOU LET ME KNOW....jOHN

PS any color plastic is fine as long as it is junebug

    Re: Harris Chain (Leesburg Laker)

    Hey John,

Thanks a lot for the tips. I pretty much planned on hitting the water just before light until about 10, then heading in until later in the evening. My Grandmother's place is on the water, and she has a bass boat there, but we talked with her neighbor and she thought that we wouldn't be able to get our boat off of the lift. So, I am going to just bring down our bass boat. If you have any mornings next week that you need a partner, let me know, I would definitely enjoy fishing with someone else down there. I usually fish with my dad, but he can't come down this time due to work. Also, how is the algae and hydrilla growth? Thanks again.

I know exactly what you are talking about. During the summer sometimes, those fish look almost completely white/gray. Nothing to them.

Got it and returned one. My mother and I are driving down tomorrow, so I will be away from the computer all day. We should get there late tomorrow night. If you get my message, just send me an email at ketj@wabash.edu. I will be able to get that during the day on my cell phone. Thanks. James Ket (317)341-5603.

    James,

Just competed in a tourney on harris. My big bass was 8.1 taken out of canel flippin a june bug trick worm. The week before tourney mt partner boated a 8.9 out of the 9th street canel flippin. That's all we did during prac and the tourney and always got our 5 fish limit and then some.

The lake does have a funny tint to it but the bass are still there. Flip deep water weed lines.
