Looking for any info on catching some fish for a tournament next month. It's been a few years since my last visit. Is East Lake Fish Camp still open.

For now the only question I'm able to answer is YES East Lake fish camp is still open.I've never fished that lake but since we purchased a home in Fell's Cove subdivision which is a couple of miles from the ramp.that wont be the case anymore.I'll also be 14 miles from West Toho's city ramp. Can't wait.
Mike, call me, I heard some good things about East lake.![]()

Good freakin luck....The water is lower than my gas fund and hotter than the hinges on the gates of hell....I refuse to go back to that festering cess-pool after I got stopped by the cops 3 times within 1 hour on the saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Everytime I got on plane I saw the flashing blues behind me....

Any of these afternoon t-storms been helping the levels for West Lake and the Kissimmee Chain??
According to the Ledger's "Fsihing around Polk county section" "the afternoon storms around Lakeland and Bartow have been by passing the Kissimmee chain so the lake is as low as ever."
The water is real low. I was on Toho this morning, the hydrilla is really topped out over there. It will be my last trip into Goblett's Cove until the water comes up, the water in the cut back in there is wicked shallow. Also, don't cut the corner on the first marker out of City Ramp. I did, and my fishfinder showed less than 2' of water almost all the way from the island out to the marker. Take the swing south very wide. Also, the shallow water has let many vegetative islands form in the middle of the boat lanes heading south, and the point just south of Makinson Island and the cut to Gobletts, where the lake narrows a touch, the torpedo grass has come out almost all the way across. Just enough room between the grass lines to fit two boats on plane. The hydrilla is not forming distinct lines, the water is so shallow that it is really just scattered everywhere, some places thicker than others. I managed 1 by 10am, my father had 1, but I missed 3 due to old line and 4 that struck and I just swung and missed in the hydrilla.
Thanks for the report.. I hate when the hydrilla is scattered out everywhere and ya cant find the edges..Hopefully the rains will start hittin the area!
