Went out today and caught my first limit of bass out of my new Ranger. I caught around 30 with the largest being 4.6 lbs. I brought home 10 between 12 and 15 inches (perfect eating size). They are in the grease right now and man they are smelling good. Every time that I take the Ranger out , it is more and more fun. Oh yea, when I got home and hit the livewell pumpout they were all very frisky...... I remembered to turn on the livewell switches.....
I was fishing at Lake Poinsett in NE Arkansas. Caught all my fish on a suspending jerk bait on secondary points in 4 to 6 ft of water. I was using a Team Diawa 2500 spinning reel and a 6' 6" Berkley spinning rod spooled with 8 lb. Suffix line. Water temp on secondary points was 52 to 54 degree's. Roe was very bloody and quite swollen; not runny yet, but further along than I thought that they would be. All in all it was a good day on the water.
