Looking for some info on Bartletts Ferry (Lake harding). I've never been there and would like to know a good place to launch, is it dangerous to run or is it pretty clear of trees and stumps? Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Chris

Hey bro figured I whould chime in im a former Valdosta native and live up here now. The lake is pretty safe to run but I will warn you with river is a different story. Also out in from of the Ga Power camping area is when it starts to get tough. But I can tell you the Nav chip for the lake is pretty much right on and and the main lake is very safe. Harding has alot of docks and the spots load up on them this time of near on the docks with deep water close by. ALso if that are on a channel swing its even better. A 3/16 shakey head with a Netbait Chart / Shad color finese worm will do the trick. I will tell you one more thing. If you are coming from south georiga up here I would just roll on to West Point. It is way better IMHO we have huge spots nice largemouth and all you have to do look for shoal markers, and points with deep water near and you are ready to go. No matter what time of you will get your limit C-Rigging the main lake points on this lake.
Thanks for the info!Mucho apreciated. I have alternative reasons for going to Harding. It close to "other" activities.

LOL I hear that... let me know how you do
I fish it pretty regularly & just like rangerjason said, the main lake and up into Halawakee Creek is prefectly safe to run. I've still not figured it out up the river & the channel is not marked at all. My 1SG tore his lower unit up this summer when the water was low up river. Fishing is ok I would say. Usually can catch some fish, but the quality is not what I would like to get in to. I've also been to West Point quite a few times with very limited success. Always heard it's a great lake & don't doubt it, but I just can't seem to figure them out I guess.
Just let me know when Currahee and I will hook you up on West Point. Its not a bad lake at all just a little different to fish. Its a back to the basics lake close is channel runs and c-rigs on points that have good deep water close.
