Guntersville Thanksgiving

With the price of gas coming down, I was considering coming up from Tampa to fish Guntersville over Thanskgiving weekend, and was wondering if it would be too late in the year. I know if if it's warmer than normal the fishing should be good, and if it's colder than normal it wont, but I was wanting to know if yall think normally there is still good fishing this time of year. Also any info on a place to stay, best way to get there from Tampa, and some basic tips to get me started if were to come. If I do come I'll probably be be myself. Our tournment year is over and I've always wnated to fish up there. Thansk in advance.

Chuck, Hey honestly, the Big G fishes pretty good year round. Water temps now varying from 55 to 60. We have had a warm spell going so it's still pretty pleasant here. Lake is still up, still alot of vegitation around. Some folks still rat fishing in limited areas. Shad migration all ove rthe lake. I would think traps and spinnerbaits with some topwater. I should be over there next week and can tell you more since its been 3 weeks sinc ei have been on the lake. Guntersville State park would be a super choice to stay at. Google them on web. Very nice place to stay.
