This is a post about our Fishers of Men tournament on Guntersville.
With around 80 people in attendance, the North East division of Fishers of Men held our last tournament meeting of the year at Calvary Baptist Church in Scottsboro Al. We were treated to a wonderful BBQ dinner with all the trimmings. The food was great and the church has a beautiful fellowship hall. The speaker for the service was the director of NE Alabama FOM. The preacher preached about “The Last Cast” out of Mathew 17. At the invitation time we had one who made a first time decision for Christ and 5 rededications. God has rally blessed this year and we want to praise him for his mighty works! There was a wonderful presence of God during the time of sharing the word of God.
The tournament was on Guntersville at Goose Pond and we were met at day light with a hard rain and lighting so we had to leave our boats and take shelter for about 30 minutes. After the storm slowed down 34 boats took off looking for the famed Large Mouth Bass of Guntersville. There were many big fish caught during the day with the biggest bag coming in at 28.49 pounds caught by the team of Montalbano / Rockhill. The big fish for the day weighed in at 7.04 pounds and was caught by the 2nd place team of Baswell / Youngman who weighed in 5 bass at 26.77 pounds.
3rd place Parrish / Bean 24.66 pounds
4th place Slaten / Lowery 22.33 pounds
5th place Rodgers / Minor 21.80 pounds
6th place Pitts / Chandler 20.49 pounds
The best bait for the day seemed to be a jig, crank bait and a Carolina rig out on humps and ditches.
