Getting a loomis cranking series rod for square bills should I go with med or med heavy? Gonna be fishing open to lite cover....I know everyone is different but what would you get?

Depends on what the tip action is too. If it is light cover a Medium would be fine.

I have several of these rods and you will want to use the med-hvy. This series runs a little lighter then most other rods with the same rating. The med. action is great for small topwaters and very light cranks like a #5 shad rap. I also like the CBR's for jerkbaits and traps. These rods are great for anything with a treble hook.
