    Pin removal pliers

Does anyone know where I can find some pliers to remove the pin on the spool shaft to access the bearing? I have contacted smoothdrag, they are out and do not know when they will have any more.

Try ebay, I really don't think Aaron is going to build any more, too bad, he had a great product.

That's a shame. I don't understand why not. It's a great product idea and he sold out very fast! High demand.

Did some research and he is still making them and there is a long list to get a pair. I got mine when he first mentioned producing them and they work as they are supposed to. Here is a site link to help.

I think that is dawn from smoothdrag. I have already contacted her inquiring about a pair. Aaron is stating that production is almost complete and distribution will begin shortly. Dawn has first dibbs on the first batch so you must place an order with her first. I still haven't got a straight answer on the price of them yet. I will keep anyone interested updated to what I learn.

IMO..the hedghog is not even in the same ballpark as those pliers.

    Pliers have leverage...hedgehog doesnt.

Yea, from the looks I'd have to agree. Im kinda clueless how the hedgehog would even work well. All the pins I have tried to remove have been TOUGH!! With no leverage I don't think it would work well on pins that may be stuck. I don't know but I will be waiting on the pliers that Aaron makes. Or something very similar.

I just finished cleaning 40 reels. the hedgehog deal works great. the leverage is in the fact that you twist or screw the deal to push the pin out. then you reverse it to install. worked great.

I've heard all this same stuff from Dawn and Aaron for about a year now, still no pliers, hope they get it together soon....

Dawn from Smoothdrag emailed me to say that as soon as she gets the pliers, she will start notifying by email. I'm not saying this is ever going to happen but if you want a pair, you might want to get on her list.
