Im looking to buy a cheap reel due to receiving some store credit at Gander mtn. I have a rod laying around that needs a reel so I figured why not. But I am tossed up between the Lews or the citica. Both are the same price. It would be great to get some opinions on what to do... buying one today...

I love my citicas E's I have 5 I also have a speed spool pro and its a great reel to. I dont have any experience with the less expensive speed spool though. The citica E's are my go to reel most of the time. Probably cant go wrong with either one.
Both are good reels, but I am not a fan of the Citica b/c of how it fits in my hand, so get the one that fits best in your hand.

Gander Mountain is now selling the Citica 200E for $89.99. Our local Gander still has 25 of them available.
Yes my local Gander mtn has them on sale also, it is a good deal. Im leaning toward the lews because it is available in a 5.4:1 ratio and im wanting another reel for cranking and spinnerbaits.
I like my Lew's and just bought another. Fits my hand good and like the ratio for cranks and spinnerbaits.
3/4 of the Earth's surface is water and 1/4 is land. Clearly god wants me to fish, not mow the lawn.

Given you want a lower gear ratio I would go for the speed spool.
Picked up the speed spool on sunday, havnt had it on the the water yet, but it feels very good for a reel in that price range.
