I am trying to figure out the best way to make a Lucky Craft slender pointer float like a rattlin rogue. Any suggestions?

Foam would need to be on the baits back.. Belly foam will make the bait roll or swim wrong.

Dip them in boiling water, makes the bait swell & become more bouyant because you're increasing the displacement area of it.
NOTE!!!! WORK VERY, VERY CAREFULLY!!! TOO LONG IN THE BOILING WATER CAN, HAS AND WILL RUIN A BAIT!!!!! I would strongly recommend you 1st practice "swelling" a cheap bait with a similar size & profile to get your an idea of timing, jerks are diff. from cranks, and diff. sized cranks are entirely different in timing as well.
I've done this on pointer 100s and it works if u have the balls. Drill a hole in the back of the bait and remove one of the brass balls. Remove 2 of em and it will float like cork
One should do it. Epoxy the hole shut and yor done

Why? finding a floating bait would be a lot easier.

Well I played with hooks tonight and am also getting an understanding of the bearings roll. Lucky Craft jerkbaits have 2 ball bearings that when casted roll to the tail to help it fly straight into the wind. Once it hits the water, the bearings are supposed to roll back and sit into a chamber located in the middle of the belly. In my testing, if the bearings stay in the tail, it slowly floats up tail down. If the bearings goto the belly, by adding smaller hooks on the last two trebles, it will float up pretty well and I think will do what I am wanting. However if the bearings stay int the tail it will take a couple of jerks to pop the bearings into place. I am going to play with it at the lake and see what it will do.
