You won't be disappointed with the epoxy above very nice clean finish plus you don't need all the safety equipment to use it also it's very forgiving if you get the mixture a little off
Agreed!! I use it on everything! I clear-coated my Storyteller Rigs with it and it really adds depth to the paint job and 3-D eyes!!

As the others have said, this is excellent epoxy and is widely used in the construction of model airplanes. I used it extensively during the 25+ years I built competition radio controlled model aircraft - but that was a different lifetime.![]()
It's made by Bob Smith Industries (http://www.bsi-inc.com/Pages/hobby/epoxies.html) and branded with the name of almost every reasonably sized hobby shop in the country. If you have a hobby shop nearby, you should be able to buy it there without having to pay shipping.![]()
BTW - get the 30 minute slow cure variety shown. It dries HARD, unlike the faster setting varieties which remain slightly tacky.

do you think the epoxy is better than the 2 part urathane clear ?

There's no doubt that epoxy is better. Much more durable finish and it doesn't yellow.
they also have a 20min expoy product that works great too.![]()

I was just woundering if it was the lures , paint, or the clear that is causing the cracks on the seam on most of the knock offs that I have purchased in the past...I tryed the magabass k.o. That didnt work so I went and bought the luckycraft knock off lipless and some started splitting at the seam after a few months...they were painted during summer and kept in room temp and I just realize when I looked at it yesterday and saw a few cracks at the seam on top of the lures...I really need to rethink this over...any help will be appreciated...

I guess I'll be the odd man here, epoxy is an adhesive it's made to glue stuff together not be a topcoat and I've seen devcon yellow (my .02) not to mention it's heavier than most of the urethane clears those to me are the disadvantages the upside is as mentioned the fumes probably wont kill you

I imagine you have to turn this also to keep it from running/dripping?
-
I know in the past when I've used 2 part epoxies; it adds quite a bit of weight to the lure; and goes on a bit thick?

yes you have to turn it, the 20min version is quite thin and not that heavy![]()
I have slow cure on the way cant wait to try it . but still using urathane now and getting little impresions is that from applying it to thick ? thanks for all your help.
All epoxy should be mixed with a syringe to make a perfect 50/50 batch. I brush on the epoxy thick and fast, then try and brush off as much as I can. Seems to leave the perfect amount on the bait. A nurse gets me 60 cc syringes to fill up with my bottled epoxy. Works great.
