    Larger sized football jigs....

Got the Do It mold in yesterday for football jigs 3/4 to 1 1/2oz baits. All in all very easy mold to pour. Figured it would be harder to do but no issues at all with the first dozen or so I made. This is a 3/4oz size with a 6/0 hook that I added one of my summer craw skirts on. Its wire tied of course and this is one of the few powder coated jigs I have done. Its not black, its a dark watermelon that came out OK. Forgot to cover the eyelet but I will get better at powdercoating with some practice. Still prefer airbrushing my jigs so far.

Just take a pair of pliers and squeeze the overpainted eyelet BEFORE you cure and you should be golden! The coating will just flake away from the eyelet and you can take a piece of wire and clean out the remainder on the inside of the eye...takes less time to do than what it took me to type this last sentence!!

It shouldn't be neccessary to cover the eye. Your powder looks a little thick. Are you using a fluid bed or dipping in the jar?
    Love that skirt!

Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!

That's why I asked if he was using a fluid bed. I was trying to critisize, just help shorten the learning curve.

Same here!! I have sent him NUMEROUS PM's to help out! The guy def has an eye for color combos!! The powder coating is a little tricky when you start but fun once you get the hang of it and experiment with different formulations! Keep 'em coming Mark...

    Re: (Terry Anderson)

No worries at all from criticism. I take it as constructive. I am still learning and experimenting. The powder is very thick on this one as I purposely was messing with it to see if I got any increased strength from multiple layers as far as durability. The jig eye was an oversight on my part as Terry had PMd me a trick to make that better a while back. Biggest issue is time to sit down and learn the characteristics of the powder a bit more. We moved into our new house and I finally have a shop area and have been getting things organized so I basically rushed to pour a few in the new mold and then decided to to paint them. First jigs I had built in a month probably but much like a kid with a new toy I had to play with it. I always appreciate any feedback and have learned a ton from you guys. I appreciate all of the time and effort spent helping me. Will be getting some fluid beds made soon.
