    Making a floating lizard??

Anybody here make a 8" or 10" floating lizard??? And I hate that Elaztec, stretchy stuff some worms are made of!!

If not that, then is there anyone who knows how to modify an existing lizard (i.e. Zoom magnum 8" lizard) to make it float.

Here's what I've tried to limited success: using a flat tip screwdriver with the tip heated by a torch, hollow out the underside of the lizard...then add another material into the hollow. I have added that Elaztec material that some "floating" worms are made of, and lizard still sinks; I have added cork and the lizard floats, but when a 5.0 hook is added it sinks; I have added styrofoam and the worm floats until a hook is added then it sinks........

Anyone else here ever tried to make a floating lizard, and found something that works?

If your going to pour your own, I've found pretty much all plastic will float, given you don't add salt.

Re: Making a floating lizard?? (booten)

Thanx Booten, but I'm not set up to pour my own. I was trying to take a "production" lizard and modify it to float....or...find someone here that pours them and is willing to make some that will float with a hook in them. I can't be the only one who wants floating lizard not made out of Elaztec stuff, gotta be someone who knows of one that does float or someone who is making one...????

    Anyone out there...:)...

Plastic floats when no salt is added to it even with most hooks. They make an additive which makes the bait more bouyant that can be added but I do not know of anyone that makes baits that big? If you find someone who pours custom lizards that big just ask them to not add salt.
