2002 Evinrude Fitch motor?

I am looking at a 2002 Ranger 518 with a 2002 Evinrude Fitch Ram injected motor. Can you tell me if they have any problems with this motor? and how does it compare to the yamaha's HPDI and Mercury EFI or optimax>

The 2002 and newer motors were built by Bombardier and are very good compared to the earlier OMC built motors

I have a 2000 150 Ficht Ram Injected and it went thru 3 powerheads in 3 yrs. The original owner had several problems along with the powerheads including 2 EMM's ,fuel pump and a stator. But I've owned it for 4 years now and it has done me right, runs great and is fairly easy on gas. I hope the current powerhead was built by Bombardier,as it was installed in 03.. Have it checked by a reputable Evinrude dealer and have the history checked also.. One other thing .when it's decals read Ficht the resale value drops considerably..So I would bargain with that in mind.. Good Luck!

No, Reynolds marine doesn't have this boat it is located out west. Does Tom have a 2002 Ranger 518 for sale?
