Time for Maintenance on 2004 175HP

Over this winter I am planning on changing spark plugs in my motor and the water pump, neither one of them has been done in 3 years. I seem to remember some where that the spark plugs have to be turned a certain way for this motor. Also when I looked up the spark plugs for the motor they were about 7 dollars a piece. I thought that was high and wanted to make sure that is about what plugs are running these days. Also I was wondering if anyone had any tricks on changing the water pump. I done one years ago and it was on a 1974 40hp and don't remember much. Is there any sponsors on here that sell the plugs and water pump?

Yes the plugs need to be indexed. Look above in the stickys for related material. The plugs can usually be ordered from an auto parts dealer for less money, I got mine at O'Reillys for 4.99 ea.
There is a tutorial in the J/Rude tips at the top of the main page of the Evinrude/Johnson forum. It's the link in blue.
