Tested some of the KO I bought

well I finally found some open water today so I could test some of my baits

    I have several differant blanks

    1. DT 6 KO all it wanted to do is roll or run way wide, tried tuning without much luck even broke one of the lips. 100% junk

    2. RC 2.5 KO I have 5 two of them ran perfect 2 ran to the left and 1 ran to the right. I did get 4 out of the 5 to run true, and with a little work I bet I could get the other to run also.

    3. LVR D7 ko I only had 1 ran true and was a screamer great bait

    4. LV 500 ko Ran very true also

    5. floating traps that ran pretty good ( suprizing)

    6. Buzzjet Jr. I only bought it becasue it was differant This bait is BAD ASS I be buying some more of these.

Out of the 6 baits I tested I was really impressed with # 6 and 3.

The RC 2.5 need some work tuning them but have a nice wide wobble will probley buy some more.

The Dt 6 I had were 100 % junk I wont buy any more of those.

Hope this helps some of you guys

HMMMM. I have some of the DT 6's and they run just fine with just a little tuning. Are you sure you are getting the bills in all the way and as straight as possible?

Did you mess with the bills on the new RC's, or could you fix all of it just by bending the line tie?

As with any bait keep in mind rings, hooks, and line will factor in. I had some Ito 110 blanks that didn't work so well with heavy #4 hooks but ran great with light wire #4's. I've noticed the shape and line tie size [or snap] plays a role.

Re: Tested some of the KO I bought (whoza_daddy)

I got out today,(finally), and got some much needed bait testing done. Ran the RC2.5 blanks, the LVR blanks, and my new Wide Load square bill balsa. The 2 blanks both ran great, the 2.5's needed a little tuning, but alot of name brand crankbaits do require some tuning out of the pack, so no big deal. The LVR's all 4 that I threw were great. But I'm the most excited about the Wide Load. I ran 2 test baits today, and both were awesome. Not really the time of year for them but I think they will be the stuff when the time is right. Action is killer, they push alot of water, cast like a bullet, and come through cover like a square bill should. I'm waiting to get feedback from a few guy's that I have testing some of these baits for me, just to be sure the results are consistant before I add them to the line up, but they will be available soon.
