    help with a lifting eye

    I got a lifting eye for a '08 etec 225..

I tried to mount it to the flywheel of an '03 225 ficht and the three holes lined up but the threads on the bolt were different.. Does anyone know if I can just get the bolts and use the lifting I have???

Seems like the bolts for the '03 are a tad smaller than the ones for the '08 etec...

    thanks

should be able to go to any auto or hardware store and get what you need, get case hardned.find one to match the holes you need to fit and take it with you.

They should both have the same thread, 5/16X24NF unless someone got tapping away in the holes

I believe the recess on the '03 is a little deeper than the e-tec. The '03 is the old style V-6 looper flywheel and the bolts on the e-tec lift ring are too short to reach the threads on the '03. If you get the bolts like Seahorse describes and get a harmonic balancer, eyebolt and some big washers you can make your own.
