Many spray a base coat and use wedding veil/tule matterial from a craft store/walmart etc to spray through. If you wash the material first it will be softer to wrap around the bait. it needs to be clipped on the bottom of the bait so it stays in place tight. I use craft smart paint from michaels thinned to milk or ink consistancy.

ahh ic... thanks for the info i was thinking the same thing with the wedding veil but i wasnt sure if there was a stencil made for this.. what do you use to clip the material to the crank? just a regular close pin?
I use pin curl clips and bend the prongs off short for a strong hold and light weight. Cheap at a beauty supply.Like $3 for an 80 ct

ohh ok.. we have plenty of those at work.. thanks for the info 21xdc im gonna try to paint some this week end...
just a thought.. are you airbrushing these lures? b.c here at work we have a super silent 20a compressor and when we do paint our clients nails the airbrush paint tends to get scraped off fairly easy.. or is there a certain type of paint that you are using in you gun?
I use a cheap air compressor, cheap gun, cheap paint and devcon 2 ton epoxy to clear coat.
