    Mixing/ making colors

I appreciate everyone's advice so far and now my next question in how the heck does a guy figure out the recipes for the different colors. Is it trial and error? Are there books or websites that would help a talentless guy figure this out? I have done several searches and I'm not finding what I need. Thanks in advance!

Trial and error is how I learned (and still am learning).

Don't throw out your bad paint mixes though. Sometimes it's good to have some paint just to run through the airbrush for test purposes or just to give a base coat on a bait.

that is all trial and error. there are color mixing charts that give you a general idea but nothing will tell you exactly what to mix. that is why you save the paint once you get it mixed exactly how you want it. it would also help to write down what you mixed and how much of it you mixed once you get the right color so if you run out, you can mix it up again in no time. hope this helps

Go to a art store and get a color wheel. It will help you get started.

    Re: Mixing/ making colors (okaythomas)

I was an art professor for six years, so believe me when I say color is hard. I have started putting together a basic color mixing tutorial that we can add to the hardbait cookbook. Right now I am putting together the visual aids and figuring out how detailed I want to get with the explanation. Look for it in the next few days.

Hey Rick, don't you have some cows to milk? I sure do like that Swan Dairy milk!

Oh, are you tired of delivering Mike's boxes to him? Ya oughta charge him when he has me leave a box of tackle there for you to take to him!

You know I would, but you put way too much security tape and anti-theft measures in place, makes it to hard to open and reseal with out leaving a mark!! Next time cut me a break
