    crankbait paints and holder

i have been painting some baits lately and i really enjoy it but useing vise grips and automotive paint,
    I have some simple questions
    1. were do you get the holders that some are useing that look like a exacto knife handle, or what are they called
    2. with createx or auto air colors how long can i wait to clear them is there a recoat time.
3.will white paint or base work for a primer, so i dont have to use wuto primer that builds up to much.

    anuything will help
I already have 2 iwata air brushes and a badger, from my harley tank painting stuff i use to do.
    thanks ben

Re: crankbait paints and holder (chumscustoms)

The holders are in fact exacto knives.
I don't believe their is a wait time on clear coating as long as you heat set the paint.
I use krylon satin white for plastics to prime the bait. I have used white paint in the past with no issues auto air makes a white basecoat sealer

    Chum,

I use white spray paint for a base coat sometimes, without problems. Then Createx over 'em.

And I like alligator clips on some heavy duty wire, anchored to solid bases; in my paint area to hold the baits firm. You can easily bend them to where you need 'em, and keep a steadier hand with the airbrush. (I'm kinda shaky otherwise) :-)
